At Healing Paws Veterinary Care, we’re building a different kind of veterinary practice — one where patient comfort matters, technicians are empowered to practice at the top of their legal scope, and there’s enough time to truly know our patients and the people who love them.

We’re a privately owned, small-team practice in Carlisle, PA and we truly love our work and each other. We do not see emergencies, and we intentionally create a calmer environment where quality medicine, Fear Free care, pain management, and meaningful client relationships come first.

We’re looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician who wants to be an integral part of our team and have a real voice in patient care.

As the only certified technician on our team, you’ll have the opportunity to truly make your mark. You’ll be an important voice  and work closely with the veterinarian and support team to provide thoughtful, high-quality care. Think about how different your days can be! As our certified technician, you’ll have your own appointments and the opportunity to use as many of your skills as Pennsylvania law allows. Your opportunities include:

• Performing technician appointments including laser therapy, vaccine boosters, diabetes education, nutrition coaching, and more.
• Advocating for pain and anxiety control for every patient.
• Inducing, monitoring, and managing pets under anesthesia.
• Performing dental scaling, polishing, sealant application, and full-mouth dental radiographs. You'll have another team member monitoring anesthesia while you focus on the dental procedure.
• Performing nerve blocks and other pain-management techniques.
• Providing patient care ranging from IVC placement and cystocentesis to laser therapy, client injection training, and everything in between.
• Performing point-of-care laboratory diagnostics, including cytology, urinalysis, and more.
• Using additional skills, including ultrasound, whenever legally permitted and appropriate.
• Educating clients during pet care coaching, anesthesia intake, and discharge appointments.
• Reviewing and filling prescription refill requests.
• Accurately maintaining medical records and entering charges.
• Triaging client medical-message questions.
• Leading your assistant team in providing quality, safe, low-stress patient care.

Busy — but not chaotic.

We’re a busy practice, but we don't believe busy has to mean miserable.

• We don't double-book.
• Doctor appointments are at least 30 minutes long.
• We take the time to be thorough.

Our days are full and go quickly, but you won't spend your shift feeling like you're constantly trying to dig yourself out of a hole or that your head is spinning.

Instead, you'll have the opportunity to truly get to know your patients and clients. Over time, you'll know which cat needs an extra five minutes to feel comfortable, which dog gets nervous in the treatment area, and which client needs a little extra education and reassurance.

Those relationships are a big part of why we love what we do.

And then there's the team.

We support each other, laugh together, and have a good time at work. We even have a weekly home-cooked lunch made by our own clinic grandma, where we sit down together, eat, and crack jokes about whatever TV show we're currently binge-watching.
