Senior pets have changing needs and Dr. Sands is passionate about helping them stay comfortable and live longer.

Pet Lover Advocate: Jess is always going the extra mile to make sure both pet owners and our staff feel respected, understood, and loved.
Memory Maker:
Jess is phenomenal at seeing special moments in the clinic and capturing those as beautiful photos for pet owners and team members to enjoy.

Interesting Fact: Jessica has her own two children but was also a surrogate so that another couple could have a child!

Laura

SOCIAL MEDIA AND GRAPHIC DESIGN, FLOOR MANAGER, CLIENT CARE SPECIALIST

Storytelling: Laura, a poet and fantasy fiction writer, does a great job of sharing the Healing Paws experience through our social media outlets!
Willingness to Help:
Laura assists our team on breaks and during the summers. She comes in with a calm but energetic nature that really helps us get things done efficiently yet in a way that remains peaceful for our patients.

Interesting Fact: Laura currently attends Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, pursuing film and dramatic writing.

Rachael

VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Veterinary Superpowers:

Positivity: Rachael always brings such a spark of joy to the clinic, because she really loves helping animals and people. This uplifts her team and helps convey to owners the importance of the care we give to their pets!
Pain-Management Pro: Rachael has built and helped our pain management program to flow! She is in charge of giving laser therapy, massages, and more to about a dozen pets weekly, to make sure there are as comfortable as possible!
Healing Paws Core Value Champion: Teamwork and Initiative
Interesting Fact: Rachael currently has two cats, Jinx and Louie (@theadventuresofjinxyandlouie) but before that she fostered a kitten! Racheal is doing Purdue’s Veterinary Technology Distance Learning Program at Healing Paws as well!

Caleb

VETERINARY ASSISTANT

Veterinary Superpowers:

Calming Presence: No matter if it’s a huge dog, or a brand-new kitten Caleb handles all animals with a professional calm that puts them right at ease.
Growing to New Heights: Caleb always takes steps to continue learning, watching videos on anesthesia during lunch, reading text books, and he is currently at Penn State for pre-vet program, and on his way to vet school!

Interesting Fact: Caleb has been snowboarding and skiing since he was 7!
