Let's learn more about your pet's internal health!

About Our In-House Laboratory

After an exam, our in-house testing laboratory is often our next stop for obtaining more information about your pet’s health or, in cases of a medical concern, finding the cause (or causes) of your pet’s current problem.

We often use our in-house analyzers to help us investigate medical problems, as time is of the essence and our analyzers can yield results in 30 minutes or less. This efficiency is essential to finding the best treatment plan for your pet.

For routine and comprehensive blood work, we will send samples to external laboratories. Results usually take 1-2 business days to come in, and when they do, our team will contact you right away to discuss your pet’s results.

Routine testing we recommend for your pet:

  • CBC (complete blood count)
  • Blood chemistry
  • Heartworm and tickborne disease testing
  • Fecal testing
  • Urinalysis
  • Thyroid hormone levels
  • Blood sugar levels

Digital X-Ray and Ultrasound

If we need more information about your pet’s condition, we can turn to our digital radiography and/or ultrasound equipment. Ultrasound is ideal for viewing the abdominal cavity and major soft tissue organs, while X-ray is best suited for visualizing the chest cavity and musculoskeletal system. Each procedure is non-invasive, and our doctors perform them with the utmost concern for your companion’s comfort.

At Healing Paws Veterinary Care, we are happy to have advanced diagnostic tools available to help us treat your pet. We can also work closely with board-certified veterinary specialists if your loved one has a condition requiring extra care and specialized testing. Our team is always happy to partner with other vets who may have more knowledge and experience in specific areas of pet medicine. Your companion’s health and well-being are our biggest concerns, and we will always choose the course of action that benefits them.
